A real gem, the Willie Park-designed course is a true classic parkland-style.

Designed by the famous Scottish architect, Willie Park, Jr. in 1919, the course remains relatively undisturbed over the last century.  Since 1999, with the help of consulting architect, Bruce Hepner, the club has undergone a restoration process to re-establish the original green dimensions and re-create the shot values intended by Park's original design.   Extensive tree removal has also been done to re-create the original parkland feel. The Battle Creek Country Club remains one of the best preserved examples of Willie Park Jr.'s contribution to golf course architecture.

Over the years, the club has hosted numerous professional and amateur events, Walter Hagen won the 1930 Michigan PGA Championship at BCCC and more recently the club has hosted the 1999 Michigan Amateur, 2007 USGA Amateur Qualifier (won by Dustin Johnson), 2010 US Open Qualifier, 2019 USGA Sr Open Qualifier and since 2014 has been home for the LPGA Epson Tour's FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship.

Doug Kreis, PGA is only the fifth club professional since 1919 and was the 2019 Michigan PGA Golf Professional of the Year   Doug offers a full-service golf shop with golf and lifestyle apparel, custom-fit equipment, many accessories and he and his staff are available for private or group instruction.   Past club professionals include 1954 PGA Champion and Ryder Cup captain, Chick Harbert, and Michigan Golf & Michigan PGA hall of fame member, Ron LaParl.

Battle Creek Country Club offers a wide variety of golfing experiences for members.  We host a number of women's events: two guest days, several partner and individual events, the club championship and our Mystery event - ladies travel by bus to enjoy the day at another private club - only finding out where they are going once the bus leaves BCCC.   We also run a Tuesday night ladies "league" which is a fun weekly social event - 9 holes of scramble golf followed by dinner.

Our men's event schedule includes team and individual tournaments, The Tradition, our annual Member/Guest, a stroke play championship, the club championship, and each fall we join 5 other clubs with Willie Park Jr. designed courses and play a traveling Ryder Cup event.

We have several Friday night couples events that are extremely well attended as well as a two day couples member-guest.

BCCC offers the finest junior program in the area.  Each summer starts with a weeklong sports camp, with junior golf continuing twice weekly into August.  We have a PGA Jr. League team and each summer have two family events - the PGA Family Cup, and our Parent-Child Twilight the evening of our junior banquet.

With our limited membership, the golf course is available and tee times are not required. Historically, our pace of play is well under four hours.
